2016.7.18 英国下院での核戦力の更新について議論、新首相メイは核ボタンを押すと言明
英国の核抑止力、トライデント原潜の更新には３１０憶ポンド、プラス、コンティンジェンシー１００憶ポンドが必要。
１ポンドは現在１４１円　（３１０＋１００）ｘ１４１円＝5兆７８００億円
The cost of renewal has been estimated at £31 billion with a £10 billion contingency fund also set aside. 

労働党は更新に反対で保守党は賛成。
メイ首相は、一度、核抑止力をスクラップしてしまうと、再生には長期間と多大な金銭が必要となる。
英国のセキュリティを守るためには、核抑止力が必要である。
現代はセキュリティを脅かす危険が増大しつつある。
英国のセキュリティが脅かされれば、何万もの罪なき人々が被害を受けようと、核ボタンを押す。
必要な時には核ボタンを押すという意思が、敵に対する核抑止力となる。
